FAMILY TREE

This is the Family tree home page from which you will be able to access notes relating to our family history. After some thought I have decided to make this a series of pages relating to family groups which are linked to a general timeline and which will be linked to allow the generations to be traced. I am still preparing the material and for the present, as an example, only one 'timeline' page is available. Hopefully it gives the general idea.

The key difficulty is the quantity of information generated from family history research. In the case of the Burdons the line is back to 1746, possibly further, and that represents a lot of people. Add on side shoots and the other main lines in the family and it becomes too complex to control easily. I have more information than I intend to lodge on a public site and family members are always welcome to contact me if they wish. In addition I have imposed a cut-off date for detailed information of around 1920 to protect the privacy of family members.

In any event I would like to start some kind of on line resource for those family members who are interested in what I've been doing and, of course, encourage you to send information to me.
